John De Goey
John De Goey is a Financial Advisor with Assante Capital Management Limited (Assante). He has been quoted frequently in various media sources including Maclean's, The National Post, The Globe and Mail and MoneySense. He has also appeared on CBC Newsworld's The Money Show, MoneySense Television and is a frequent guest on Garth Turner's Investment Television.
John also writes a regular column for Canadian Business Franchise Magazine and is becoming recognized as a leading commentator on financial planning in general and small business issues in particular.
John's goal is to ensure that the financial futures of his clients are sound. This involves maximizing long-term, client specific returns, while minimizing both taxes and market risk. Proper estate planning- including the use of insurance is also an important consideration. John is one of the few qualified planners in the country who offers the flexibility of investing on a fee-only (no load) basis. This more closely aligns John's compensation with client objectives. It also allows for the use of more cost effective investment vehicles- so that savings can be passed along to clients.
The road to achieving financial goals is unique to each individual, and determining your needs and expectations is only the first step. By working together, John can customize a plan that incorporates the best options for you. If requested, new clients can receive a comprehensive, written plan which details all aspects of planning that is updated regularly free of charge. As such, John's approach combines "no load" investing and "fee for service" planning.
John's fees are lower than those charged by traditional brokerage houses, even though most brokers are less qualified to offer holistic advice. Total cost to the client is also lower than most other planners, who tend to use higher-cost investment vehicles due to their licencing restrictions. These fees are deductible for people with assets outside of registered plans. This is a huge benefit when compared to most other planners. As accounts grow, John's fee declines. This is why his position in the marketplace is described as "Partnering to Secure Your Retirement Lifestyle".
John is presently serving his second term as President of the Central Ontario Chapter of the Canadian Association of Financial Planners (CAFP). His academic training includes a Masters in Public Administration (MPA). He is a Certified Investment Manager (CIM), a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and a Registered Financial Planner (R.F.P.).
John lives in Etobicoke with his wife Marina and daughter Sophie.

Wayne Lang
After graduating from Sir George Williams University in 1966 (B.Comm - Business Administration), Wayne entered the corporate world and immediately found himself in the computer field. For the next 25 plus years his career spanned the full range of the technology world; Programmer, Systems Analyst, Manager, Director, Vice-President of Information Systems, Consultant, Director of Systems Integration, computer sales - you name it. Key "clients" were in North America and Europe and involved mid-sized to large companies and government. In 1992, Wayne joined his brother Steve in the financial services world as a financial planner/advisor. Within just a few years, having achieved a substantial level of success in his new industry, Wayne was asked to speak to a conference of his peers as one of their "top performers" and leaders. Core Financial Beliefs Wayne believes a properly constructed financial plan integrates Tax, Investment and Estate planning (what he calls the TIE approach) and he has created The Lifetime Financial Integrator based on this concept . This is a process that provides ongoing comprehensive financial planning services to his clients throughout their lifetime. Wayne sees himself as the orchestra leader in the center of this diagram, making sure that the key areas such as tax, insurance, retirement planning, estate planning and investments are working in harmony. Within the investment industry there are a number of people who choose stocks and bonds better than most, or do it with less risk. Wayne thinks his money and his clients' money should be aligned with them. Wayne subscribes to the Graham/Buffett "buy good businesses at good prices" approach. He doesn't roll the dice but rather believes you can constrain risk both through Advanced Modern Portfolio Theory and Tactical Asset Allocation when they are executed well. Is this a conflict in ideologies? No, not in his opinion as you will read in his book Crash? Boom! BANG!! You can contact Wayne at Assante Capital Management Ltd. Wayne Rothe
Wayne provides financial counsel to nearly 300 families and a wider audience through several columns he writes.
Wayne believes that financial planning is not a product, but a process. It's not just a matter of picking a few mutual funds. Investment choice is important, but so too are tax, insurance, estate and retirement planning. In fact, studies show that over 90% of your success is not investMENT performance but investOR performance. It's not the products that you choose, but what you do after the investment decision is made that determines your success. Do you sell at the first market downturn, buy the next flavour of the month and jump ship when it also falls out of favour? That's a wealth destroyer.
Wayne believes that the elite money managers are able to achieve superior returns, and that his and his clients' money should be managed by those great managers.
Wayne believes that the best way to make serious money is with long-term ownership of some of the best companies in North America and around the world. That's how it's done. Case closed.
