* BMO launches two North America focused funds.
BMO Investments Inc.
debuted two high-conviction mutual funds intended to provide investors an
opportunity to access growth in Canada and North America.
“High conviction portfolios – concentrated in fewer stocks than traditional
funds – are increasingly in demand,” said Mark Raes, Head of Product
Management Canada, BMO Global Asset Management.
The funds are sub-advised by SIA Wealth Management Inc. and are also
available as ETF units, trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
BMO SIA Focused Canadian Equity Fund:
This fund provides investors access to a concentrated portfolio of Canadian
equities that are selected based on relative strength. Also available as an
BMO SIA Focused Canadian Equity Fund (TSX: ZFC).
BMO SIA Focused North American Equity Fund:
This fund provides investors access to a concentrated portfolio of North
American equities that are selected based on relative strength. Also
available as an ETF
BMO SIA Focused North American Equity Fund (TSX: ZFN).
SIA Wealth Management Inc. is an independent investment management firm
founded in 2012 that focuses building diversified portfolios through
relative strength analysis.
* Manulife multifactor ETF debuts on TSX.
Manulife Investments announced that its
Manulife Multifactor Emerging Markets Index ETF (TSX: MEME.B)
began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Dec. 12. The fund is
sub-advised by Dimensional Fund Advisors Canada ULC and DFA Australia
Limited. The fund tracks an index developed by Dimensional, which uses a
multifactor approach using a proprietary technique.
* BMO Nesbitt Burns completes fund mergers and conversions. BMO Nesbitt Burns announced the
completion of the following.
DoubleLine Fund merged with PineBridge Fund.
DoubleLine Fund converted to an open-end mutual fund, adopted an investment
mandate substantially similar to the PineBridge Fund, and was renamed
BMO PineBridge Preferred Securities TACTIC Fund.
The PineBridge Fund was terminated following the completion of the merger.
Global Water Fund and Global Alpha Fund converted to mutual funds.
The Global Water Fund and Global Alpha Fund were converted to open-end
mutual funds. The Global Water Fund was renamed
BMO Global Water Solutions TACTIC Fund
and the Global Alpha Fund was renamed the
BMO Global Growth TACTIC Fund.
